Paul Foropoulos

Fine Artist, Painter, Sculptor, Art Restorer, Jewelry Designer and Art Instructor

Paul Foropoulos (PhD Fine Arts) is an internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary artist whose career spans over four decades and multiple continents. Born on the historic island of Samos, Greece, Foropoulos’s journey as a visual storyteller began at the age of 19 with a landmark solo exhibition at the American University of Beirut—an event attended by the Lebanese Prime Minister and broadcast on national television, signaling the arrival of a major talent.

Throughout his prolific career, Foropoulos has refined a singular aesthetic, bridging classical disciplines with contemporary digital and graphic innovation. His body of work—ranging from vibrant, light-infused marine and underwater oil paintings to evocative sculptures and jewelry—is a testament to a life lived in deep conversation with the Mediterranean sea and the global waters and lands he has traveled.

Foropoulos’ professional trajectory is marked by high-profile institutional recognition. In 2004, he was appointed to create the title painting for the "Olympiaki Ekehiria" (Olympic Truce) exhibition during the Athens Olympic Games. His work has since graced the world’s most prestigious stages, from a legendary 1983 solo exhibition at Carnegie Conference Hall, Rockefeller Center, to recurring honors at the Florence Biennale.

Beyond the canvas, Dr. Foropoulos is a dedicated educator and restorer. Through the Foropoulos Studios of Fine Arts in Clearwater, Florida, he continues to shape the next generation of artists, emphasizing that while talent is innate, mastery is the result of rigorous training and the relentless pursuit of the "Sublime." His works are held in significant private and corporate collections worldwide, prized for their exuberant use of color, tactile richness, and their ability to capture the spiritual essence of the natural world.
