Art Restoration by Paul Foropoulos
Evaluating the Painting – Step 1
Paul Foropoulos carefully examines this severely damaged, yet precious painting, to determine what damage needs to be repaired and what approach he will take. This painting sadly has considerable damage including two large holes, and a long tear in the canvas.
Evaluating the Painting – Step 2
Here we see a large puncture through the painting along a few other smaller holes and tears as well as missing paint.
Evaluating the Painting – Step 3
Another large hole with tears in the painting and missing paint will have to be carefully mended without altering the original artist’s intent.
Evaluating the Painting – Step 4
A long rip mars the left middle area of the painting. In addition to repairing the holes, rips, and tears - the painting will have to be gently cleaned.
